Insta License

Instaphone License was also cancelled. but thanks to the cunning brothers sitting in the board of Arfeen group, managed to get the license back thru court. Anyways the case is still in court and according to the following web site the case is still open:
http://www.cellular-news.com/story/28403.php

"In the final hearing on November 29, 2007 the representative of Instaphone requested for further time to make the payments but without any cogent evidence or specific date for the same. The Authority's considered opinion is that the licensee's contravention of the terms and conditions of the license regarding its financial obligations is grave and persistent, resulting in the termination of its license."

The Downfall of Instaphone (Pakcom Ltd.)

Instaphone, the pioneer of Telecom in Pakistan, is destined to be doomed. What caused that, ask the owner, "Arfeen International".

For those who don't know the background, Instaphone was merged with Paktel and were owned by Milicom. Later on, in 2006, Milicom pulled itself out of Pakistan by selling Paktel to China Mobile (now Zong) and Instaphone was somewhat handed over to the original owners Arfeen Group which also owns Telecard, GoCDMA and SuperNet.

Check out the link, however theres nothing to read.

Now my sources tell me that employees have not been paid since 4 months. Those sacked 1 year back are still waiting for their clearance cheques which includes Provident Fund and Gratuity.

See you till the next blog.
